Located on Najaf-Karbala Road and in vicinity of Najaf Refinery, the Heidarieh Power Plant (also known as Najaf Power Plant) comprises a gas-fueled unit with a capacity of 162 MWs. The plant utilizes equipment manufactured by MAPNA, including MAP2+ gas turbine and the homegrown MAPCS control system which has been developed by MAPNA Electric & Control Engineering and Manufacturing (MECO).
The site of the project was handed to MAPNA on July 12th, 2012. The project kicked off on August 4th, 2012. The power plant was synchronized to Iraq’s national power grid in May 2015.
A 132-KW substation transfers the power from the Heidarieh Power Plant.
