The locomotive braking and pneumatic systems rely heavily on compressed air supply. Reaching cutting-edge technologies in the provision of such equipment can make a significant contribution to lowering imports and increasing device localization. MLC is now working on the design and construction of a compressor model with a capacity of more than 200 cfm, similar to the compressors used in Iranian freight locomotives, which, in addition to being less expensive than international models, may be used in a variety of freight locomotives.
