MAPNA Receives PAC for Two Units of Rumaila Power Plant

MAPNA Group received provisional acceptance certificate (PAC) for units I and II of Rumaila Power Plant on Monday, July 30, 2018.
The certificate was handed to MAPNA by project’s client Shamara Holding Group on Wednesday, June 20, 2018.
MAPNA Group executes design, procurement, transportation, installation, and commissioning phases for the 3000-MW power plant which is located on the outskirts of Basra, southern Iraq.
MAPNA Combined Cycle Power Plants Construction and Development Company (aka MD-2), a subsidiary of MAPNA Group is in charge of the project.
With the recent PAC, MD-2 has now received PAC for a total number of 87 units with an aggregate capacity of 12,411 megawatts inside and outside Iran.
The first phase of Rumaila Power Plant project includes construction of 6 gas-fueled units that run on MAP2B turbines, homegrown turbines designed and manufactured by MAPNA. An efficiency of 34.6 percent has been set for the units, to be increased to 36 percent twelve months after receiving the provisional acceptance certificates.
Three E-type steam units will be added to these thermal units in the second phase of the project.
Phases three and four of the project include the same number of thermal and steam units respectively.
Eventually, the power plant will comprise six blocks of power (BoP) each with a capacity of 500 MWs.
