MAPNA-Reconstructed Unit of Aleppo Thermal Power Plant Goes on Stream

In a ceremony on July 1, the fifth unit of the Aleppo Thermal Power Plant was synchronized to Syria’s national grid after it was reconstructed by the MAPNA Group.Once adding around 1,100 MWs to Syria’s grid, the power plant suffered almost 70% damage during the years-long conflict.The reconstructed unit can add 200 MWs to the country’s power generation capacity.This is the first of the two units that MAPNA Group has committed to reconstructing.
