MAPNA was established under the title "Iran Power Plant Projects Management Company" in August 1993. It began as a general contractor for power plant projects, working under turnkey schemes. The company gradually evolved from a sole contractor in 1990s and licensed producer in the 2000s to a technology owner in the 2010s, currently a leading name in the global gas turbine market.
The Group’s activities are deeply connected with serving the basic needs of the Iranian industries: since its inception, the conglomerate has been seeking to play the role of a "problem solving enterprise" in tackling strategic and infrastructural challenges. In recent years, MAPNA has attempted to employ the experience of industrial and managerial elites in the development of innovative scientific and technological solutions. The Group's activities in this field include developing intelligent infrastructure and electrifying transportation systems.
MAPNA Group aims to keep up with rapid global industrial trends through the transfer of technology and partnering with multinational companies, as well as acquisition of the know-how for localization of industrial products to help transition Iran into a country with advanced infrastructure.
