With the need to establish new power plants to meet increasing power demands, MAPNA received a mandate from Ministry of Power’s TAVANIR company proposing construction of a 1000 MW power plant under BOO scheme late October 2009, which ultimately established MAPNA Khuzestan Power Generation Company in May 28, 2011.
Behbehan 1000 MW Combined Cycle power plant is located 20 kms of Bidboland-Behbehan connecting road in a track of land of 100 hectares. The first phase includes a unit of 484 MW, with gas units of 162 MW and steam turbines of 160 MW, which uses MAPNA MAP2+ ISO turbines. The cooling system has been designed in compliance with ACC environmental recommendations. The combined cycle of the power plant is under construction after the land delivery to contractor and establishing fence around the track and fattening the ground. Two gas units of the power plant were delivered on February, 2017.
